Garrett Behrends was born July 22, 1987 in Amarillo, Texas and grew up in Muleshoe, Texas. He moved to Lubbock in 2006 to attend Lubbock Christian University. He graduated from LCU in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Youth and Family Ministry. It was at LCU that Garrett met his future wife, Amanda.

Garrett and Amanda were married in 2011 and have spent 10 wonderful years together. Amanda has a degree from LCU in Theatre Education and is currently teaching Music and Theatre at Lubbock Cooper North Elementary School. So far kids have not entered the equation, but they hope to change that in the future.

Garrett has been in student ministry for over 10 years and spent the last 7 years working as the Youth and Family Minister in Murrieta, California. He joined the Sunset team in September 2021 and is very excited to be back in Lubbock doing ministry with Sunset.

One of Garrett’s favorite pieces of scripture is Romans 10:14-15. He loves baseball, go Rangers! And loves spending time with family and friends playing board games.
