LEAH Shortly after graduating college with a BA in elementary education, Leah Rader moved to Lubbock, TX with her husband, Jeff, to attend Sunset International Bible Institute. After taking a few classes with Jeff, she was eager to begin teaching children and began substitute teaching with LISD and then became a teacher for 4th grade students at Parkway Elementary for 1 year. When she began having her own children, she turned her focus to home educating her 3 sons - Ben (22), Allen (20), and Charlie (17). This is her 18th and last year of home educating.
 
Leah has been an active member at Sunset for 26 years. During that time, God has blessed her to serve alongside her husband Jeff in teaching children’s Bible classes and Vacation Bible School, in volunteering in classes and at retreats with the Sunset Youth Group, in coordinating Leadership Training for Christ for 10 years, and in teaching at White River Youth Camp every summer for the last 10 years. Her passion is to nurture, love, and support children and families so that they may thrive in the love of God and in knowing who He is and who they are in Him. She feels richly blessed to be serving as the Interim Children’s Education Minister and can’t wait to see all God will continue to do with our children and families here at Sunset.
