Steve was born June 27, 1957 in Amarillo, Texas and grew up there and in Dumas. He met Libby at the Sunset building in the east foyer where Jim McGuiggan held a class that was too large for most of the building classrooms. Libby grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico and graduated from Harding University. Steve graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 1979 and received his Ph.D. from Texas Tech University in 1997.

Steve and Libby have two children, Gerianne and Gina.

The Germans have been members at Sunset since the early 1980s. Steve is involved with Sunset’s adult teaching and finance ministries.

Steve’s favorite scripture is I John 1:5-7.
