Steve
Linscomb

Executive Minister

Steve was born on August 26, 1960, in Corpus Christi,  Texas. His early childhood was spent there, but eventually in 1970 his family moved to San Antonio just before
hurricane Celia blew through Corpus Christi. In San Antonio, Steve was active in sports and playing in the middle school and high school bands and graduated from MacArthur High School in 1978. He started college at Texas Tech University and later finished at Abilene Christian University with a bachelor's degree in mass communication/journalism in 1982.

Steve started out in the communications field while at ACU working at a commercial radio station to get experience and lay the groundwork for transitioning into television broadcasting. While working at Abilene’s CBS affiliate, he met his wife Michelle who was working at the federal court building there. They were married in 1987 and have three grown children Tyler, Grant, and Holt. Steve’s profession in meteorology and   reporting took them to live in several cities     including Abilene, TX, Columbus OH, Tyler, TX,  Lubbock TX, and San Antonio, TX before coming back to Lubbock the start of 2024. Steve retired from the broadcasting industry in 2012 and transitioned into school administration at Judson ISD where he worked until coming back to Lubbock.

Steve’s favorite scripture is 1 John 5:13 because it assures us of the gift of eternal life God has given us. His favorite foods are Italian and Mexican, and he loves all kinds of sports, but especially baseball and tennis (getting back into playing). He enjoys reading and writing fiction, and spending time with family...especially his grandkids.
